Musee Alsacien

Visitors to the Alsatian Museum, both an art museum and a museum of folklore, are given a fascinating tour of the historic homes of Strasbourg, which are connected by stairs and wooden passageways.

Approximately one thousand artifacts on display bear witness to life in rural Alsace during the 18th and 19th centuries. These artifacts include clothing, furniture, earthenware, toys, religious and secular images, and more.

The museum's collection consists of over 50,000 objects displayed in their original interior settings across three timber-framed homes dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries. The homes were constructed during those centuries.

The museum features reproductions of the interiors of buildings located in Alsace's various 'regions,' such as the agricultural plain, the wine region, and the Vosges Mountains, as well as the workshops of local artisans.
