Three-tiered Vazhvanthol waterfall may be found in Bonacaud valley in the district of Thiruvananthapuram. The waterfall is found in the Peppara Wildlife Sanctuary. It is located 50 kilometers (km) from Thiruvananthapuram and 13 kilometers (km) from Vitura.

Tourists visiting Thiruvananthapuram often head to Vazhvanthol Falls since it is a great place to go hiking.

It is obvious that the lack of outside knowledge about this remote location is shocking. Only those with a special interest in nature or who work in the field tend to venture out here. Only between the hours of 9 AM and 2 PM are guests allowed to enter the forest. Because there are no restaurants in the area, adventurers should come prepared by bringing their own meals.

How to explore Vazhvanthol Waterfalls?

  • You need a pass from the Kotadam checkpoint to hike to these waterfalls, which may be obtained from the Forest Department. Half a kilometer from Kotadam, you will pass by the Chatankot tribal community and the Bonakkad estate employees' residence. The actual hiking of the Vazhvanthol begins now.
  • A long and challenging journey through eucalyptus, bamboo and Manjiyam plantations brings you to waterfalls. The existence of such bamboo groves should serve as a clue that you have entered the area of waterfalls.
  • In contrast to the bustle of Thiruvananthapuram, the journey to Vazhvanthol, which involves navigating slippery rocks and stones and winding through lush forests, is an unforgettable experience.
  • You can see snakes, leeches, and other small wild animals up close while trekking.
  • Wander along the winding paths and take in the serene scenery.
  • A picnic and a swim in the refreshingly cool water of this natural pool would make for a perfect afternoon here.
  • While out on the trails, you can get lucky if you get to spot an elephant.
  • You never know what kind of exotic fish you may catch at the base of the waterfall, so be sure to bring your fishing gear.
  • You can go to Peppara Wildlife Sanctuary after you finish hiking at these waterfalls. Over 200 species of birds and 40 species of reptiles call this refuge home due to its high biodiversity. There are a variety of animals lounging around in this tropical paradise, including tigers, elephants, deer, and the Nilgiri langur.
