At Playa de las Teresitas, the golden sand spreads for nearly one mile (1.5 kilometers), palm trees sway in the light breeze from the ocean, and the waters surrounding the beach are immaculate and great for swimming and cooling off in.

You have made it to what most people consider the most stunning beach in the northern part of Tenerife.

THINGS TO DO AT PLAYA DE LAS TERESITAS:

  • Acquaint yourself with the past of the location:

Playa de Las Teresitas was formerly surrounded by rocks and sand that were black. Large plantations of bananas, avocados, and other vegetables may be seen near the shore.

When construction on the port in Santa Cruz de Tenerife began in the 1950s, several of Santa Cruz's beaches began to vanish because the sand from those beaches was used to construct the port. The port is located in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

The regional administration imported sand from the Sahara since the cost of this alternative to black sand was lower.

The current form and appearance of Playa de Las Teresitas were achieved because a beach with golden sand was perceived to be more appealing to tourists.

When one visits the beach, one will see that a breakwater has been created just a few meters from the shore. This breakwater serves as an underwater dam that stops the golden sand from being carried into the ocean.

  • Take in breathtaking panoramas:

The Las Teresitas viewpoint may be seen from the southern part of the beach; however, additional information on this viewpoint will be provided in a later section of the article.

You can view the village of San Andres and its brightly colored homes set on a cliff from the stretch of the beach located further to the north.

  • Enjoy the sun and the sea at the same time:

Playa de las Teresitas is a beach that, despite its popularity, has preserved its natural beauty and might easily be mistaken for a beach in the Caribbean.

This beach is captivating and the perfect place to kick back, take it easy, and get some much-needed vitamin D. You can play a game of volleyball or participate in one of the daily yoga sessions or aerobics classes held on the beach.

The amenities are sufficient because there is an abundance of loungers, umbrellas, showers, and a selection of restaurants and pubs within proximity to the beach.
