What to see at Prague Zoo

  • Female Western Lowland Gorilla 'Bikira' was chosen as the most famous animal in the Czech Republic. She is the zoo's shining star you can't miss out on visiting.
  • The Elephant Valley at the Prague Zoo is the place to go if you are interested in seeing elephants, which are massive but kind and docile creatures. The Asian elephant Shanti is an artist, so be sure to check out her work while you are there. When the staff found out about her artistic abilities, she gained instant fame, and her abstract paintings were even shown in galleries, where some of them were sold for exorbitant prices.
  • The Giant Salamander House in Prague Zoo is home to some of the zoo's other fascinating residents.
  • Inside the Hippo Pavilion, you will find another gentle giant of the Prague Zoo. Slávek, a 3.5-ton hippo born in captivity, is a gentle giant.
  • This garden is the only place in Europe to house Asiatic lions who have made the long journey from their native India to the zoo. They are the zoo's many notable achievements. Come see them at the Cat and Reptile Pavilion.
  • 'Pat the lesser panda' and his girlfriend 'Maria' delivered the zoo's first-ever panda child, so if you are looking for a dose of adorableness, you should definitely check them out.
  • Przewalski's horse and all other wild horse species became extinct during the second half of the 20th century. The Prague Zoo is responsible for maintaining this horse's genetic purity. This zoo is your opportunity to have a look at these rare species.
  • Eat at a nearby restaurant named Salabka, which serves one of the finest cuisines.
