Located in New York City, the Brooklyn Bridge connects the borough of Brooklyn to the borough of Manhattan by means of a suspension bridge spanning the East River. When it was finished in 1883, it held the record for the world's longest suspension bridge. Today, it is still regarded as one of the most stunning and monumental bridges ever built.

The Brooklyn Bridge, with its Gothic arches and flowing cables, has become an icon of New York City and a popular tourist destination. Behold praiseworthy panoramas of the New York Harbor and Liberty Island from here.

John Augustus Roebling and his son Washington Roebling spearheaded an extraordinary engineering effort to build the Brooklyn Bridge. It took more than 14 years to construct the bridge, which consisted of steel cables and stone towers.

The Brooklyn Bridge is also a significant part of New York's past. It was a huge improvement to local transportation that this bridge finally linked Manhattan and Brooklyn.
