Dan Ohlmann, a miniaturist artist, founded the Miniature and Cinema Museum, formerly known as the Museum of Miniatures and Film Sets, in 2005.

The museum has two permanent collections: one dedicated to miniature art and another to special effects techniques utilized in film production. On the upper floor, the museum keeps the whole collection of works by Dan Ohlmann, as well as diverse pieces, including those by Julien Martinez, Françoise Andres, Ronan-Jim Sevellec, Yves Chouard, and Michel Perez.

Twelve rooms are dedicated to film special effects techniques, complete with original equipment and parts: masks and prostheses, miniature sets, matte paints, inlaid background, animatronics, miniature cars, live stop motion effects, 3D animation, life-size sets, models, costumes, and digital. Rooms with sets from the film Le Parfum, Grenouille's cellar and workshop, Baldini's office, and perfume shop are also on display.

There are also chiseled egg shells, carved matchsticks, and micro-origami on the site. Aside from all of the miniature sculptures, the museum's other focus is on special effects and cinematic creatures. Visitors to the museum can see artifacts and costumes from films including I, Stuart Little, Robot, and Hellboy in this section. Even with all of the micro amazements, the Musée Miniature et Cinéma generates a lot of enthusiasm.
