Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park

The Shivpuri National Park can be found north of the Kathmandu valley. It is located just beyond the point at which the noise and activity of the urban world begin to dissipate and where the imaginary lines of the city begin to blur into the outskirts. Even if it's just for a day, you get to escape the noise and stress of urban living and the pressures of everyday life and give your mind, body, and spirit a chance to recuperate.

Keep a day or two in your itinerary to explore these woods, especially if you are a traveler who enjoys going off the beaten route and experiencing unique adventures.

Things to do at Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park:

  • Explore flora and fauna:

In the past, Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park served only as a water catchment region; however, it has since evolved into a comprehensive forest reserve home to a vast range of plants and animals that contribute to the park's unique ecosystem. It covers an area of around 160 square meters and extends into the districts of Kathmandu, Nuwakot, and Sindhupalchowk.

  • Advent into the wilderness for some priceless nature photography:

In addition to being an area rich in biodiversity, this is a favorite destination for locals who like activities such as hiking, trekking, and mountain biking. As you make your way through the undeveloped areas of the national park, you will pass through numerous dense forests.

The footprints of past hikers throughout the years have left a ghost of a trail imprint on the wet ground covered in moss, although it can be challenging to discern what those marks are in certain spots.

  • Watch the elements of the mystique earth all around:

The Bagmati River is the most important waterway in this region and one of Kathmandu's most important sources of drinkable water.

Even though the stream that runs through the city looks more like a moving toboggan than anything else, its original, unspoiled form can be seen clearly from higher up in the mountains.

  • Rejuvenate your mind and soul with peace and tranquility:

The Tibetan monastery known as Nagi Gumpha can be tucked away inside the Shivapuri National Park. The tranquility and composure of the environment and vibrant flags contribute to the authentic sense one gets while visiting a monastery. The views of the valleys below are breathtaking.

  • Spot aviary life and learn more about their habitats:

There is sufficient space for those who only want to see birds sometimes.

You might see a Eurasian eagle-owl, a barred cuckoo dove, a white-gorgets flycatcher, a slender-billed scimitar-babbler, or a golden-throated barbet if you remain still and quiet for a
