The hilltop garden and viewing point known as Daman-e-Koh may be found in the Margalla Hills' heart, north of Islamabad. The name is derived from the combination of two Persian words that, when read together, signify 'foothills.' It is roughly 500 feet from Islamabad and approximately 2400 feet above sea level.
Because of its high-quality restaurants, superb cuisine, live music, hiking paths, and lavishly forested hills, it is a popular tourist destination for those from the surrounding area and people from further afield.
Visitors to Daman-e-Koh are treated to a breathtaking panorama of Islamabad from this location. On the path that leads to Pir Sohawa, which sits atop the Margalla Hills at an altitude of around 3,600 feet, Daman-e-Koh serves as a convenient halfway point. It offers panoramic views that extend over Islamabad and, on the rare occasion that the morning is crisp, all the way south to the Salt Range.
The presence of vegetation and flowers in various areas contribute to an enhancement of its beauty. In addition to the beautiful natural environment, animals, including monkeys and peacocks, can be seen playing around in the region.
For the convenience of the tourists, Daman-e-Koh has a significant number of hotels and places where they can cool off.
Visit The Shah Faisal Mosque is a breathtaking sight, and this area provides an excellent vantage point from which to gain a sense of the city's layout.
