A beautiful outdoor terrace on the left bank of the Arno River is the Florentine Piazzale Michelangelo. It is the only location from which you can get the best views of Florence, and it was constructed in the end of the 1800s. Did you know that Michelangelo Buonarotti, a famous Florentine artist, had his original plans for the Piazzale Michelangelo as a museum dedicated to his creations?

The arduous ascent to the top of the hill is worthwhile when you see his creations' most breathtaking bronze replicas and take in the expansive view of Florence's skyline, especially at night. The David replica, a well-known statue he created, is located in the square, and its decorations include miniature allegorical figures representing day, night, dusk, and dawn.
