Saklikent Milli Park

Fethiye - Mugla is home to Saklıkent Milli Parkı. It is located 40 kilometers north of Kas and east of Fethiye. This national park is accessible by the Kalkan from the south. Saklıkent is a Canyon that is unbelievably beautiful and mystic in Turkey. In 1992 the Saklıkent Canyon was declared a National Park.


The Saklıkent Canyon is 18 km long, 300 meters deep, steep, and narrow. It is regarded as the third longest canyon in Europe, after Verdon in France and Vikos in Greece. The Saklıkent+ Gorge is also known as 'Hidden Valley' or The Lost City.


After April, when most of the snow from the Taurus Mountains melts +and flows down the valley on its way to the Xanthos River. This is when Saklıkent Canyon is accessible by foot. The best time to visit Saklıkent Milli Parkı is during the summer when the canyon is pleasantly cool, shaded, and filled with cold water.
