The Msheireb Museums honor Qatar's past within the redeveloped Msheireb neighborhood in the city's heart. The four different Msheireb Museums provide perspectives on Doha's history, progress, and development from prehistory to the present. The emphasis differs between each house.

Things to do at Msheireb Museum:

  • Learn about the indigenous traditions and lifestyle: Reviewing the past of the original Msheireb neighborhood, which is now Downtown Doha, should start in the Mohammed Bin Jassim House. The son of Qatar's modern-day founder constructed the home. Come here to learn about the region's past, present, and future and insights into how customs and heritage are upheld while the area adopts a cutting-edge way of life.
  • Follow the development of slavery from its inception: Learn about the history of slavery at the Bin Jelmood House. The emphasis is on the long history of slavery in the Indian Ocean region, which includes the Arabian Gulf. Bin Jelmood House presents a genuine representation of slavery and its social and economic effects through captivating audio-visual content, which includes testimonies from enslaved people's descendants. An on-site library created in collaboration with the Qatar National Library provides a space for research and facilitates learning.
  • Visit the Company House: As the former headquarter of Qatar's first oil company, it depicts the tale of the men who created the petroleum industry and explore how oil was discovered and how it grew to be a significant part of Qatar's economy. The displays are enhanced by video footage of the workers, demonstrating how the nation and the industry have changed over time.
  • Wander around the museum for infrastructural innovations: In the 1920s, the Radwani House was first constructed. Currently a museum open to the public, the courtyard house has family-oriented exhibitions. Discover how life has evolved with contemporary conveniences by studying archaeological discoveries that describe daily routines in past times. Particularly fascinating are the changes in family life brought about by electricity usage and the discovery of oil.
  • Participate in group tours and meet like-minded people: The Msheireb Museums provide instructional tours for schools, universities, youth centers, and guided visits for individuals, groups, and organizations. These can be modified to fit certain requirements. Workshops, events, and conferences can also be held in the museum areas.
