One of the world's most cutting-edge rail transit systems is the Doha Metro, located in the capital of Qatar. The Doha Metro's first phase opened for business in 2019 in time for the FIFA World Cup in 2022.

The Doha Metro is 205 kilometers long.

Things to do at Doha Metro:

  • Experience premium traveling: The metro in Doha, the capital of Qatar, is the largest QIRP subproject. It is a brand-new, cutting-edge mass transit system that is mostly underground. It aims to reduce the spreading of car traffic in Doha and the neighboring suburbs and make local public rail an appealing mode of transportation. Doha Metro has broken the record for the most TBMs (Tunnel Boring Machines) ever deployed, with 21 operating simultaneously across all lines.

  • Masterpiece infrastructure to remind you of the countryside: The exterior is dhow-inspired, and the 109 stations' exterior design mimics the traditional Bedouin tents. The interior features a pearl effect and colors that reflect Qatar's heritage. Its scope includes architectural and MEP work and 11.68 km of twin-bored tunnels traversing through 10 underground stations.
  • Hassle-free traveling with good connectivity: The Doha Metro takes you where you need to go quickly (and for less!), so say goodbye to taxi surcharges and traffic. The red, green, and gold lines make up the Doha Metro. There are plans to expand the network with a fourth blue line, although this won't likely start operating until 2025.
  1. Red Line: Red Line opened up in the summer of 2019. It connects Al Wakra in the south to Lusail in the north. The city center and Hamad International Airport are both connected by this 40km long, 18-station railway.
  2. Green Line: The green line in Doha has 11 stops and spans from Al Riffa to Al Mansoura. The final line to launch was the Green Line, which opened to patrons in December 2019.
  3. Gold Line: The gold line, which has 11 stops total, is used for transportation between Ras Bu Aboud in the east to Al Aziziyah in the west.

  • Choose your travel preference from various options: Three different carriage types are available on each Doha Metro train: regular, gold, and family. The regular carriages are open to all passengers; however, using the gold ones requires a gold club card. Family carriages are only for families and lone girls; lone males are not permitted to use them.
  • Reliable and assured commuting facility: The Doha Metro runs every day of the week from Saturday through Wednesday from 6 am to 11 night. While the metro runs from 2 p.m. to midnight on Fridays, the hours are extended to 6 a.m. until midnight on Thursdays. Trains arrive every six minutes; it typically takes three minutes to get between stations.
