The first Cistercian nunnery was built sometime in the 12th century and was relocated to its current location in Dijon sometime in the 17th century. The nunnery, which houses Musée de la Vie Bourguignonne, provides visitors with a unique opportunity to get a feel for the culture and history of the area.

Visit the Perrin de Puycousin-directed museum of Burgundian life to learn more about the region:

The well-known folklorist M. Perrin de Puycousin amassed a collection of ethnographic artifacts from rural areas and collected them for this museum toward the tail end of the 19th century.

Because of him, it is possible to track down a wide variety of household items, costumes from various countries, and pieces of furniture, all of which are shown in historically correct environments.

Observe the duplicated version of the world of trade and commerce for the most accurate reference points:

A faithful duplicate of the life-size stores that used to line the streets of Dijon's old area has also been made. This is a replica of the originals.

These businesses included anything from toy stores and clockmakers to butchers and pharmacists.

Signs and banners designed in the style of bygone centuries that used to grace the walls of Dijon now aim to advertise both traditional and contemporary specialties from the Burgundy region.

The guests must examine mustard since it is the subject of the particular section of the exhibit that focuses on the condiment's history.

Creatively inclined artists will find a haven of activities to suit their interests and cross-cultural appreciation:

Visitors will learn how local artists have traditionally manufactured items out of stone, clay, and wood by reading in-depth descriptions of the different regional crafts based on the geological environment and participating in workshops and other episodes of crafting. These components can also be detected in neighboring buildings, commonplace objects, and furniture.
