The Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History's building was constructed in 1909 as a customs house and post office for the United States. Later, in the 1950s, it was converted into a museum. The building's classic Beaux-Arts architecture, which includes intricate stone carvings and an elegant entrance hall, reflects the city's rich history and culture.

The building is a stunning example of Classical Revival architecture, and it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the Texas Register of Historic Places.

It offers visitors the opportunity to learn about the natural and cultural history of South Texas, including the geological formations of the region, the history of its indigenous people, and the impact of Spanish colonization on the region.

The Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History also includes a children's museum with interactive and hands-on exhibits for children to explore. This is an unforgettable opportunity for families with young children to explore and learn together.
