Cinque Terre Trails

Cinque Terre is located on the Italian Riviera in the region of Liguria. It is made up of five picturesque towns, each perched on the cliffs overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The Cinque Terre trails are a network of hiking paths that connect the towns and offer breathtaking views of the coast.

The most famous among the Cinque Terre trails is the 'Sentiero Azzurro,' or the Blue Trail, which connects all five towns and is approximately 8 miles (13 km) long. It is considered a moderate hike, with some steep sections and steps, and can take between 4 to 7 hours to complete. The trail is well-marked and offers a mix of pavement, dirt paths, and stairs, with plenty of rest stops along the way.

There are also other trail options to explore, like the Red Trail offers a more challenging hike through the terraced vineyards and olive groves, with more elevation changes and rugged terrain. While the Green Trail is also a moderate hike that takes you through the countryside away from the coastal views, but will also show you a different perspective of the region.

Due to the steep terrain and uneven surfaces, it's recommended that hikers wear sturdy shoes and bring plenty of water and snacks. Keep in mind that certain sections of the trail may be closed due to weather or maintenance. Be aware of the weather and trail conditions before embarking on your hike.

It is important to know that a hiking permit is mandatory to do any trail in Cinque Terre and it can be purchased on the official website.
