Several pilgrims and tourists visit Parthasarathy Temple yearly because of its religious significance. The Tamil word for Parathasarthy is 'Arjuna's Charioteer.' One of the city's oldest and most revered shrines is a magnificent temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu located in Thiruvallikeni or Triplicane. THINGS TO DO AT PARTHASARATHY TEMPLE: • Learn about religious significance: One of the few shrines in the nation that honors Krishna as Parthasarathy, the charioteer of Arjuna, houses statues of the three Vishnu avatars, Narasimha, Rama, and Krishna. Tiruvallikeni has the reputation of being the Southern Vrindavana due to the temple's affiliation with Krishna. In the temple, he also noted the Telliya Singar shrine. • One of the 108 Divyadesams is this beautiful religious location. The holy places known as Divyadesams, devoted to Lord Vishnu, are described in the Divya Prabandha, a significant literary work by Tamil saints or the Alvars. The 4000 Tamil verses that makeup Divya Prabandha were written by the 12 Alvars and collected by Vaishnava Acharya Nathamuni. • The sacred shrine's splendor, which was constructed in the Dravidian architectural style, would awe visitors: Mandapams depict legendary tales using exquisite carvings that feature Lord Vishnu's avatars. The Tiruvaimozhi Mandapam was one of the Vijayanagar Empire's impressive additions. In the front mandapam are Lord Sri Rama and Lord Ranganatha. In the prakara's shrines, Lord Ganjendravaradha and Yoga Narashima can be seen. On the Adi Sesha, Sri Ranganatha can be seen dozing off. Lord Narasimha, Sri Yog Narasimhar, Lord Gajendra Varadar, Lord Chakravarthy Thirumagan, Lord Ranganatha, Goddess Vedavalli, and Goddess Andal have impressive shrines at Parthasarathy Temple, which is a magnificent spectacle. Hanuman, Swami Manavala Mamunigal, and Vedanthachariar are also honored in it. • It is stated that the water in a sacred tank made up of five holy wells next to the temple is more holy than the Ganges River: Keeravani, the temple's sacred tank, is encircled by the five holy Theerthams, Indra, Soma, Agni, Meena, and Vishnu. • Participate in holy rituals: There is a lot of celebration during Brahmotsavams, Rama Navmi, Navarathri, Sri Varadaraja Uthsavam, Sri Nammalvar Uthsavam, Vasanthosavam, Kodai Uthsavam, and Udayavar Uthsavam. • Vaikunta Ekadesi is a festival that attracts many pilgrims from December through January. The presiding god is led in a magnificent parade while wearing his vahanams, which include Yali, Hamsa, and Garuda. Every day, Annadhanam is held. • There are annual utsavams at the Parthasarathy temple. During certain festivals, it is a religious custom to transport the many gods of the temple through the triplicate Mada veethis. The Gods travel on various religiously constructed temple vehicles or vaghanams known in Tamil, such as elephants, eagles, horses, Yaali (a legendary animal), temple raths (also known as chariots or rathams), etc.
