Madras Lighthouse, or Marina Lighthouse, is tucked away on the east coast of the Indian Subcontinent and offers a pleasant experience to anyone visiting to spend some time away from the bustling city centers. This destination draws thousands of tourists annually and has established itself as a must-visit venue for travelers and photographers because of its excellent position, quiet setting, and tranquil environment. THINGS TO DO AT THE LIGHTHOUSE: • Learn about the history of the site: The Lighthouse, which East Coast Constructions and Industries constructed in 1976, is still a well-known tourist destination. The Chennai lighthouse is one of India's 13 lighthouses, which are important heritage sites that showcase the country's maritime history. When Chennai was an open seashore before the end of the 18th century, the cargo was stacked and unloaded from ships there. In the past, fisherwomen would light bonfires to guide travelers toward the seashore. It was restored to the public at the end of 2013 after 22 years of closure, thanks to a cosmetic and technological upgrade. • Admire the structure: On the second-longest beach in the world, overlooking the Bay of Bengal is a triangular structure with classic lighthouse-style bright red and white stripes. The iconic landmark was constructed in 1976 and is one of the few lighthouses in the world and the only one in India to include an electric lift. If you've ever hesitated to go to the Lighthouse because you believed it would require arduous stair climbing, reconsider! Because the Lighthouse is solar-powered, it is also environmentally beneficial. Use the elevator to get to the ninth floor of the Lighthouse, where there is a viewing gallery with binoculars if you are a guest, as long as you have a valid ticket. • Safety comes first, and embrace it here: You can tell that the authorities have made great efforts to make the public area accident-proof and prevent undesirable situations from happening here because the gallery is reinforced with steel mesh. • Bring your camera with you, don't forget: The beach, the Bay of Bengal, and the Marina promenade are all magnificently visible from the Lighthouse. You may unwind in a relaxed setting, enjoy a lovely sea view, or sit back and watch the dawn or sunset. Additionally, there is a little park where kids can interact with others their age and enjoy their visit. This location offers you countless chances to take breathtaking photos with jaw-dropping backgrounds.
