The Duke’s Diwan is an arts and cultural center that also acts as a historic house museum. Located in Amman, Jordan this house has its own long history, it was constructed by Abdul Rahman Madi in 1924. Initially it was built to provide service as Amma’s central post office. As decades passed, it changed into the Ministry of Finance and later into the Haifa Hotel. Then in 2001, it was transformed into an art and cultural destination. The great artists, thinkers and poets come to this place to showcase and teach their art and culture skills. The beautiness of this museum is its early 20th-century Levantine architecture.
Along with its architectural charm, this museum hosts numerous programs. Include musical performances, art exhibitions, poetry readings, myriad events, theatrical shows and many more. Adding on attractive features, the walls of the museum were decorated with sketches of Amman's Ottoman and Roman ruins, historical photographs, and portraits of King Hussein. It's a unique historic building with rich heritage and culture.
